salt lake part 2

Okay so to help catch people up on the rest of the trip, its been a while since this trip so I  will only touch on the really awesome parts (i.e what I can remember).
there is only three things worth mentioning

  • Bowling with  Cailey and Jeff
  • fun at the cabin
  • uncle
  • trip home
  1.  So  before this evening with  My cousin  Cailey and her husband, I have had absolutely zero luck bowling, I believe the last time I got a strike was 1999. (so about 14 years give or take) and that is a terrible streak. The Good news here is that  I managed at least Two Strikes. I am trying to remember if there was a third one somewhere in there. It was a fun evening, a really fun evening.  Cailey is one of my favorite  Cousins and a really awesome person. it had been a super long time since we had seen each other, I would say christmas of 1997 or 1998. I do remember that she got a book on jump rope and I got a book on playing marbles, hers came with a jump rope and mine came with a small bag of marbles. There was also a candy cane game where the whole family got together and  one person read a story about a Mr. Right,  and every time  the person said left or right  everybody would pass a candy cane in the given direction , and both of us managed a trick and  hoarded about 20 candy canes each. anyways enough of memory lane. good times... we played a couple games, and i even got to meet her husband Jeff, he is pretty cool. I hope for another opportunity to spend time with the two of them again.
  2. So my wonderful Wife's Grandpa has a cabin somewhere in Utah( by that I mean I am not  revealing where). We went  up there and stayed one night at the cabin. Her Grandpa, her dad,  and her sister also  stayed  the night there.  the following day I got to help her grandpa out around the cabin with some of the chores that needed to be done. It was really fun to be able to help out. also on the property was a couple of  4 wheelers,  we were able to ride around on  the property. This was my first  time really driving a 4 wheeler and it was Fun!! The trail  on the property was very easy ( My wife mastered it when she was four, it was one of the things her Dad tells me every now and then, you know, to boost my self esteem)/ He was very nice enough to  take me on a trail. we had some father-in-law--son-in--law alone time.
  3. So My wife and I were also able to visit My Uncle. I had also not seen hiim nor my aunt and cousins,  It was a wonderful opportunity to sit down and eat dinner with them. last time I saw my cousins was when they were all pretty much knee high to a grasshopper.
  4.  Most people do not include this  in their posts, BUT,  it seems too much of a story to not tell it.  because for some reason plane trips can never go smooth. Aside from having to travel ALL day, and having to run to the Gates.  This time it went almost smoothly up until the flight to the last airport, were first there was a delay ( which was good because we got there late) but then, there was another delay followed by another delay FOLLOWED BY ANOTHER  DELAY and just for the fun of it they delayed it one more time, and for some reason there was even ANOTHER delay after everyone had gotten off the plane. anyways moving on,  we finally got on board and  FINALLY make it to our last destination. (rant coming up) but I want to say that the most annoying part of the trip is that somehow they run out of storage in the overhead compartments. and they make the  last people that will get on  sign their carry ons in. and not, CARRY them ON. it would not have been  such a big deal if two things.
    1. if it was a last minute problem (i.e.   everybody else is on board) that would make sense, but this was never the case, for both the flight to and from utah, they had pretty much demanded the people boarding last to check in their bags. they could not  leave it open, and just say: "hey! we have a full flight if  we  would like to encourage passengers that do not mind, to check in their carry on, that would be great!" There was no charge aside from the huge inconvenience. I just do not think just because I am one of the last to board that I should get the short end of the stick, especially when my seat is not necessarily the lowest class, It really made it confusing how they do their boarding numbers, so if anyone knows how that works please comment below and let me know...thank you.
    2. The big deal breaker here is when I get on board and  70% of what I see is poorly put in carry ons and tons of Gap plenty of room for more carry ons. I think it would be easier to just move peoples things to where it will all fit, I paid for my ticket just like everyone else, and I brought my luggage to be carry on, so I should be allowed to carry on my luggage, its just that simple. (now if there was actually no space left and it was a last minute oops no more space this rant would  would not be here..goodness first world problems...
  5. the scariest part of this trip was when I thought I lost the camera, yeah, all those pictures I took, Gone, I am so glad i found it. anyways thats all I have to say about that.
( I will update this later with pictures)
