So around the first week of may 2013 My Wonderful wife and myself went to the land of the Mormons, Utah, to the land of the now not-so Mormon, Salt Lake City ( I heard the mormon/non-mormon ratio is pretty close to 50/50 now) I must say the first impression was great. The biggest hassle however was getting the Correct Rental vehicle. Goodness--I mean in the end i still got short end of the stick, But I will save the car review for the end so that those that do not want to read it do not have to.
here is a picture of it!!
So The main reason for this trip was to go to the wedding of an In-law.
it was a lovely occasion indeed!!
. But the really great part was being able to visit and spend good quality time with all sides of the family. I got to go to Temple Square, which was for the First time since I cannot recollect ever being there, but I have been told we have, so I will just stick with my story because It is more believable for me. My Wife and I got a splendid tour of the grounds by my step-brother Jay. We got to see the Assembly hall, the conference center, the LDS library, and around the visitor center(s)..there is two of them...did not know that.
assembly hall!!
tabernacle!!!
inside the assembly hall!!
inside the tabernacle!!
creeper shot of the temple
on top of the conference center. Beautiful view!!
So some of the delicious news. I have Officially eaten at a IN and OUT Burger, it was super delicious, my only disappointment was that none of their burgers come with Bacon. I ate at Astro Burger and had a pastrami burger, that was really great! It was not while we were in Utah but I have also finally eaten at a 5 Guys Burger and Fries, that was also really great!
I got to see Family (my side) also. I got to go Bowling with my Cousin and her Husband. We had lots of fun. and I Finally got a Strike after just over 10 years of a horrible bowling record. (even got an extra one in there too...super cool). I also got to visit with my stepbrother William (Tom) we went to this really great pizza place and got to see a friend of theirs play some sweet music, I was even able to get an autographed CD, I am going to hold on to that, and as mentioned earlier I got to spend time with Jay my other Step Brother, and I got to meet some of his kids for the first time. Fun Stuff. and just before leaving I got to visit with my Uncle Ed, Aunt Crystal and my cousins. Lisa and I were able to sit down and eat a super yummy meal with them and talk about life in general. Its so weird seeing how grown up my cousin have gotten.
We also spent time with Lisa's family too. Homebase was after all at her mothers place. I am going to save that and more for tomorrow however I do not want to take too much of y'alls time.
